Making something out of---I'll figure it out later.

In this document from which I've been staging several entries, I noticed a strange pull-down menu. It did not contain the font function, used to change entry color. You may laugh, but remember the all-caps rabble who are a source of despair to those of us with a few nerve cells above the rank of ganglion. In this week of "freaky" amping steadily up, what's with the menu?

Clicking on "home" instead of "insert" brought to familiar, if not comforting, back. Well, belaboring such minutia are accomplishments. Mentor has been through all kinds of adventures and kept her erudite and whimsical course, and then there is my former folder-leader in the one community band. She has moved half a state, suffered indignities from the rental truck company---yeah, and the truck broke down too nyuk nyuk, fought a turf battle with loving but bed staking Greyhounds and more.

Five hundred miles negates her taming of sixteenth notes in our current Christmas set which roll like the latest storm before my eyes. Send fingers, folks, and dare I ask for reflexes.

So what else have we accomplished here? I discovered five ounce net tubs of arugula at the 99 cent store: not just "baby" and "organic" but pre-washed. Uh-huh. I know of the just-short-of-a-buck store fallacies with amounts, so I will compare the next time I am other arugula-bearing retailers.

Then in the broadcast department there is the matter of Letterman's show. I am overdue for a digital telly but for now I have been viewing the web presentations of this and a few other programs. Though I'm impatiently awaiting "Chris Matthews 3-D". Web viewing does not seem to allow for fast-forwarding of the same few commercials, one of which is for an anti-depressant and moves like a six micrometer string being drawn through a four micrometer hole.

Dave and the writers milk the idea he's not overly latest tech savvy, and surely enough his show frequently keeps freezing. Finally I discovered, after many rebootings and enduring the punishment for trying to jam the show forward---double doses of "rhymes with 'mystique'", the refresh button. It resumes the show a few seconds before the interruption. Something tells me I could try to jump over the commercials.

But why is it some of us do stop short of challenging more if still very basic "orders of things at large"? That, and being grateful for every second of The Late Show.

Depressing.
