Musings About Writing and Stories About Life

She's like the girl in the movie when the Spitfire falls
Like the girl in the picture that he couldn't afford
She's like the girl with the smile in the hospital ward
Like the girl in the novel in the wind on the moors

Sputtering

AETW: 621

It always seems to take me awhile to get back into my routine after a weekend. It doesn’t help that my period is going in fits and starts—do I want to organise or create?! I’ve had one of those days where I have trouble getting into anything. I’m like a lawnmower that just doesn’t want to turn over and start running.

I did do food and cat-supply shopping, and marinate chicken for dinner. And Ken dropped the key to the bike trunks down into the bike, so I had to go to Trikon bearing may different screwdrivers and vice grips. We sat in the hot tub when he got home, and then I made dinner (the marinated chicken over rice and steamed broccoli) while he did more computer fiddling. I read for a bit, and we watched “Frasier” together, and now he’s packing and I’m trying to get a little more writing done.

Tomorrow, I have a chiro appt in the morning, and then I drive him to the airport for three days in Portland. Meg may or may not come over to do some sewing; her daughter Julian got bit by a dog and they were in the emergency room until 4 a.m. today getting stitches. :( Poor wee Monkey. Poor Meg and Matt.
