Musings About Writing and Stories About Life

She's like the girl in the movie when the Spitfire falls
Like the girl in the picture that he couldn't afford
She's like the girl with the smile in the hospital ward
Like the girl in the novel in the wind on the moors

"Ooh! Say 'spanking' again!"

Whew. Gate Booklet, draft 1, is done! I forgot to put in page numbers, and I have to tweak the cover art, but it’s printed and ready for Ken to proofread. I found a few mistakes already. But that’s the point of having drafts.

Took the Amenities Booklet to the copiers today (Ken came home for lunch and took me on the bike). All that’s left is the Combat Booklet…which I haven’t received yet.

It’s been a sluggish day, though, which doesn’t help when I have so much to do.

Critted two stories of Teresa’s, tweaked one of my vignettes, and did an hour of copy editing. I still don’t feel like I did a lot. How annoying. Oh, and I cleaned cat boxes. This is rapidly turning into one of those extremely boring journal entries…

Aaaaahhhhh! The premiere episode of this season of “Buffy” TOTALLY ROCKED! It looks like it’s going to be a great season, if they can keep this up. And, during commericals, they had James Marsters as Spike wandering through a graveyard talking about what was coming up next. In the first one, he said something like “a brand spanking new episode”, and I said, “Ooh! Say ‘spanking’ again!” And I kept saying that until the very last one, when he did. As Joss Whedon says, bring your own subtext. [eg]

Ken is watching a history show on plumbing. He just laughed and said, “They said Jesus smelled!” Apparently early Christians eschewed bathing because they didn’t want to be like the oppressor Romans. But in our reality, this translates as “Jesus was stinky.”

I do love this font. Sorry ya’ll can’t see it.
