Musings About Writing and Stories About Life

She's like the girl in the movie when the Spitfire falls
Like the girl in the picture that he couldn't afford
She's like the girl with the smile in the hospital ward
Like the girl in the novel in the wind on the moors

Ah, my brain (smile fondly)

I feel as though I’ve been working steadily this morning, but I don’t feel as though I’ve accomplished much. Ah well. I shall persevere. Even with Def Leppard’s “Photograph” going through my head on WRDH (Radio in Dayle’s Head—used to be “All Gowan, All the Time”).

Oops, no, now it’s “Lost Brotherhood”. Back on track.

To make up for last night’s insomnia, tonight I’m sleepy and it’s not quite 10:30 p.m. Argh. I’m not even entirely cognisant of what I’ve accomplished today. Lots of little stuff. In between TV shows I’ve been working on the rewrite of “Testing the Waters”. It’ll be good to get that project done and out the door. Sarah and I have been tossing ideas back and forth for our novel, and I even wrote a few paragraphs on it, because the dialogue popped into my head and was perfect. I love starting new projects, and I have to resist diving straight into this one. I have to finish AETW first. Sarah and I have to hash out the plot first, too—a more detailed outline than I’m used to, but it’ll make writing the book go faster and easier.

You know, I’m feeling pretty good about “Testing the Waters”. I may just try Hitchcock’s before I send it to the Spirits & Sleuths antho. I should hear back from H before the antho deadline, and I’d much rather be published in H…

Heh. I was talking to Ken and he said, “Is that Faith on ‘Letterman’?” So I dive over to the TV and turn it on. It’s barely come on when I answer, “No, that’s Rose McGowan from ‘Charmed’.” Keep your realities straight, dude! In other geekdom news, my brain went a-wandering today and tried to give me Faith/Spike scenes. Now that would be just too sexy for words.

Watched “The West Wing” and finished a lucet cord I was braiding. Now, to bed with me.
