She's like the girl in the movie when the Spitfire falls
Like the girl in the picture that he couldn't afford
She's like the girl with the smile in the hospital ward
Like the girl in the novel in the wind on the moors

Stealth coronet

Hee hee! I just had the coolest idea! See, I’ve decided not to try and take my coronet to Collegium this weekend. We’re going on the bike and don’t have a lot of room, and it’ll get squished because I haven’t yet found a box for it (and it’s made of plastic canvas covered by purple velvet and then pearled, for those of you who haven’t seen it). So I e-mailed Eilidh, Hair Designer Extraordinaire (among her many talents), to ask if she’ll do my hair this weekend. She agreed. She does these really nifty crown braids, and I was wondering if she could weave in the pearl and garnet necklace I received from the Queen for participating in Crown Tournament. Then it hit me! I’m going to sew big pearls onto six bobby pins, and have her insert them into the braid around my head. Minimalist Baronial Coronet! Hee hee hee!

Ken’s mom came over today and drove me around on my errands. I dropped off the Gate Booklet and picked up the fire posters; the printer had sent the Amenities Booklet to their other shop and it wasn’t back yet. No biggie; I’ll pick it up on Monday when I drop off the Combat Booklet. Mailed a boatload of stories at the PO, and went food and cat litter shopping.

Finished the Combat Booklet, except for proofreading. I’m not really allowed to alter the design, it turns out. I just inserted the cover art and the schedules and the map.
