Musings About Writing and Stories About Life

She's like the girl in the movie when the Spitfire falls
Like the girl in the picture that he couldn't afford
She's like the girl with the smile in the hospital ward
Like the girl in the novel in the wind on the moors

Metallic mauve

BH: 1385

Spent the morning in a panic and late morning/early afternoon at the eye doctor’s getting new contacts and my eyes dilated. The dilation means I can’t focus up front; usually I schedule the appt first thing in the morning and then go back to bed. But it turned out I could see the computer, so I got some copyediting done after all. Not as much as I’d like—but I’m refusing to panic right now. A coupla glasses of wine helps with that. [g]

Nice bit of writing tonight. Chapter 11’s nearly done, or maybe it is. All that’s left is Chapter 12. And then a big ol’ revision, because it’s too short and needs a lot of work. But the basis is there, and I’m planning to finish the revision by the end of the month and get it out to critiquers. Then I’ll work on short stories and the Blaze that Sarah and I are writing. We want to get it started and then finish it while she’s here. I’ve said that before. Rambling…

Anyway, big day tomorrow. Ken says to wear comfortable outdoor clothes. Hmmm… I did my nails in a pretty metallic dark mauve, just in case. Oh hey, I just realised it probably matches the colour of the bike! I so rock.
