Musings About Writing and Stories About Life

She's like the girl in the movie when the Spitfire falls
Like the girl in the picture that he couldn't afford
She's like the girl with the smile in the hospital ward
Like the girl in the novel in the wind on the moors

Mirage

Got two erotica stories in the mail today: “Frozen” to Dyke the Halls (no, really!) and “Artistic License” to Best Women’s Erotica 2004 (it was form-rejected from Best American Erotica, sadly. Granted, it’s a fairly fluffy story, but I thought I’d try the Best Of’s anyway).

Being a geek now. I’d already started making a list of things we need to do by Pent, by my party, etc. We’ve both gone over it, added stuff…and then I even made a calendar so we can see how many days are left and pick what days to do stuff and… Yeah, I can hear all your Geek-o-Meters beeping from here.

Got lots of copy editing done today, with a goal of getting this journal done early so I can take on another one. I’ve asked Sage for full-time work if they can give it to me, at least until I find a job.

We also went for a much-needed bike ride today, to get away. We went first to a trim/fabric store in Long Beach, which had an astonishing amount of trim and cord, but not the colour of purple I’m looking for. So, we’re going to have to stop at the fabric district on the way to Black Oak Lodge this weekend. That way I can do a lot of the handsewing on my banner there. Anyway, then we headed out towards the beach and road home most of the way along the ocean. So beautiful. Saw Catalina Island in the haze, making it look like a mirage.

Came home, worked, and Ken made omelets (swiss cheese, tomato, yellow pepper, and green onion) and we watched “Angel”, and that was good.
