Musings About Writing and Stories About Life

She's like the girl in the movie when the Spitfire falls
Like the girl in the picture that he couldn't afford
She's like the girl with the smile in the hospital ward
Like the girl in the novel in the wind on the moors

So close

BH: 440, Chapter 12 mostly edited

Here’s something cool: Instead of stopping newspaper delivery while we’re gone, we have the option of having the issue delivered to a school for use in classrooms. How neat is that? And I could even do it online. One more thing checked off the list.

Nearing the end of another long day. The bike is ready to go. The summer bike gloves have been found (and the garage straightened). The e-mail In Box is down to about five reminder e-mails, much to my astonishment and delight. The SCA rapier handbook is re-edited (I keyed in all of my changes) and sent on. Most of the perishable food has been eaten. Laundry has been started. I still have to pack, but I do have a detailed list.

We’re definitely having lunch with Kris and Dean; they regularly lunch with local writers on Sundays, so we’ll join them. It’ll be good to see them again.

Unfortunately, I still haven’t cracked open Chapter 12, and must start that soon!

Later still (tomorrow, really). I’d like to take another pass at Chapter 12 before I send it out; it still seems thin. OTOH, I’ve added some nice touches, I think. I need fewer than 500 words to hit the minimum for a Silhouette Romance. But I assume the comments I get from critiquers will show me areas that need to be expanded.

Tomorrow will be busy. Ken’s off to an SCA demo in the morning, and a writer friend of mine, Christine, will be visiting and I’ll be making her a bodice. Then she’ll be off home and Ken will return, and we’ll pack and hopefully head out. If not, there’s always Friday. But I’m itching to get on the road as well.

Hm. The pass to Crater Lake may be snowed over. Must re-think route!
