Musings About Writing and Stories About Life

She's like the girl in the movie when the Spitfire falls
Like the girl in the picture that he couldn't afford
She's like the girl with the smile in the hospital ward
Like the girl in the novel in the wind on the moors

Stress loss

Goals for Today. First, the Must Do’s: Finish copy editing and mail the job off. Help Ken update the GWW Quicken account. Call Dennis re: cat care. Call my niece. Work on lucet cords. Sew pin on cape. Put together a Gate checklist.

Doesn’t look like much, until you add in the Ought To Do’s: Paint the underside of my parasol. Write about 15 e-mails. Make garb (Viking apron, maybe a linen undertunic…). Start packing.

I’m feeling a little odd right now. Almost…sad. With a vague hint of anxiety. I think it may actually be the opposite—I finished copy editing, I finished a bunch of other small projects. The Combat Booklets are done (I know, I finished them last night, but it’s still an amazement). I may be suffering from a _lack_ of anxiety, because everything’s pretty much on track.

I started the Viking apron, and got most of it done, but have decided not to rush it. It’s silly to do so, given that I have more than enough garb for the event. One of the lucet cords is almost done (it’s for a straw hat). I put together the Gate checklist. I haven’t done the rest of the Must Do stuff, although Ken may be out all night sewing, so the night is effectively still young, at nearly midnight. I did answer a lot of those e-mails, too.

On a totally unrelated note, here again is something obscure that I’m looking for. Not that ya’ll have found anything else that I’ve been looking for, but hey, there’s always a first time. “Making Sandwiches”, a film short produced by, directed by, and starring Sandra Bullock. It’s never been released on video, which makes me cranky.

Okay. I’m mindlessly websurfing. It’s time to go to bed. Or at least run screaming from the computer. We’re off to the War site tomorrow to stuff Gate packets and do other War-setup-type things.
