Musings About Writing and Stories About Life

She's like the girl in the movie when the Spitfire falls
Like the girl in the picture that he couldn't afford
She's like the girl with the smile in the hospital ward
Like the girl in the novel in the wind on the moors

Briefly

Forgot to mention: Someone from Finland found my journal because of my mention of “Hunting Venus”. What a small world the Internet has made. I did order a DVD-R of the TV-movie from someone in the UK. Yay!

Many, many book boxes have been unpacked. Many still remain, but as near as I can tell, they’re all travel or history books. I managed to get all of the fiction in the library, with a little room to spare. All the genre stuff—SF/F, romance, mystery, and children’s—is organized. The rest—regular fiction, historical fiction, and various non-fiction—are just shoved in there for now, until I figure out a system. I know I’m missing at least one box of SF/F books, most likely ones I had in Wales, but the books may be mixed in with some of the history or travel books.

I was going to run a few errands this afternoon, but then the new abstracts for the journal I’m working on came through, and I figure I can whomp through those, leaving only indexing while Teresa’s here. I’ve also done some laundry and straightened a bit. I still need to shower and such, but I can do that later.
