Musings About Writing and Stories About Life

She's like the girl in the movie when the Spitfire falls
Like the girl in the picture that he couldn't afford
She's like the girl with the smile in the hospital ward
Like the girl in the novel in the wind on the moors

Triumphant return

We are triumphantly home, with many e-mails still to deal with, not to mention a super-rush editing job. I sprained my finger on the foot rail of the bed, but it’s not so bad that I can’t type, so editing will commence anon (read: tomorrow), and will be heads-on for the coming week (Collegium, a two-day SCA event of classes, is this weekend, causing added pressure). We did go to Textile Guild tonight, and finished warping the table loom, which was exciting in a fiber-geeky sort of way.

Then we came home and started catching up on recorded shows; “Will & Grace” and “West Wing” are down, with a few more to go, including the beginning of the new Stephen King miniseries.

Dennis De Young is playing two SoCal concerts in May, but tickets went on sale yesterday and earlier today (before we were home). For one concert, the good seats are gone. For the other, the good seats are trés expensive. Fret, fret.

Meanwhile, Styx is doing another KLOS “Jim Ladd’s Living Room” this coming Monday! And there are limited tickets on sale! Tani is checking to see if she can get freebies, but I may order tickets just to be safe.

Came home to several rejections, including a novel one (based on a proposal), which is somewhat disheartening, but it mostly means more stuff to get back in the mail.

Sleepy and rambly now. Must go to bed. I do have journal entries for the first half of our trip, and took notes for the second half, so expect those in the next few days.
