Musings About Writing and Stories About Life

She's like the girl in the movie when the Spitfire falls
Like the girl in the picture that he couldn't afford
She's like the girl with the smile in the hospital ward
Like the girl in the novel in the wind on the moors

Pleasurable bumps and other rambles

Teresa has confirmed that the story we sold (as Sophie Mouette) to Best Women’s Erotica 2005 is “Dyeing for Her”, which we wrote for an anthology that passed on it. It’s a fun, girly, sexy story.

Yesterday’s lingerie calendar model was lying on a pool slide. Which would cause quite a bump if you’re trying to go down the slide. Not a pleasurable bump, either, I would think.

Spent an astonishing amount of money at Costco today, even though nothing seemed like a major purchase (the three bottles of champagne weren’t expensive…); it just adds up when you pick up bulk amounts of Kleenex and pallets of Dr Pepper. We also went to Target and bought, among other things, a Swiffer. Anything to encourage us to mop more than once a year.

We were supposed to be housecleaning today, but all I’ve done is take down the shower curtain in preparation for hanging the new one. I realised that it would be easier to clean the shower without a curtain up. So now I’m stuck. Gotta clean. Damn.

Haven’t cleaned yet, though. We did a little work in the backyard, and then friends showed up to go out to dinner. We found a seafood place on the beach. A wee bit pricey, but good. Well, my French onion soup wasn’t very good (way too salty, too peppery as well, and served in a shallow bowl), but my seared ahi salad with extra feta was quite tasty.

So now it’s late, and we’re answering e-mail, and if we’re going to watch another Season Two ep of “Angel”, we’d better get out there and do it soon…
