Musings About Writing and Stories About Life

She's like the girl in the movie when the Spitfire falls
Like the girl in the picture that he couldn't afford
She's like the girl with the smile in the hospital ward
Like the girl in the novel in the wind on the moors

Oh no, not again

Had a great massage this morning, ‘though I would’ve been utterly happy if it had lasted twice as long or more. Had a pretty good chiro appt—my lower neck made all sorts of happy popping noises, but my upper neck remained stubborn. It will probably be a few more sessions of both massage and chiro before the wind damage is fixed. Then I had an eye appt, at which we determined that soft contacts are a failed experiment (pity); new gas perms have been ordered.

After that, we went food shopping and cat litter shopping and necessities shopping, and then I asked Ken to take Charlie to the vet (another bout of granuloma or whatever it’s called, plus all the cretins have fleas). I can see the bottom of my e-mail right now, but I still have a lot more to deal with. I’ve hit that point where I feel overwhelmed at everything on the list(s), unable to pick one to focus on. I hate that.

FYI, I’ve commented on any journal comments from the past 3 weeks or so, in case anyone wants to check back.

Did I mention I bought the notebook on the trip in large part to get down all the myriad ideas that were attacking me for yet another novel? Like I need another novel idea right now. At first I couldn’t decide whether it was one big honkin’ novel or four books, each about one sister. I think it’s the former. I have characters (description, family relation, basic characteristics, and what they have to overcome to fall in love), and part of the setting, at least. What I don’t have, yet, is an actual plot. It’ll come to me eventually. Hopefully after I’ve written the several other books that are already waiting their turns.

My floor loom is warped! [happy dance] Now I have to get a shuttle that’s the right size, and I can start weaving!

(Yeah. Like I have any time to weave. But still!)
