Musings About Writing and Stories About Life

She's like the girl in the movie when the Spitfire falls
Like the girl in the picture that he couldn't afford
She's like the girl with the smile in the hospital ward
Like the girl in the novel in the wind on the moors

Dreaming

Slow start today, because I went to bed far too late last night, for no good reason I can fathom. Maybe it was that first night of Ken being away angst.

As I said yesterday, Ken being awesome, he fixed the problem in Portland. Today he’s been helping them out with some smaller stuff. He may try to get a flight home tonight, depending.

But the more exciting news is not just that they have some other upcoming projects for him to work on, but they may send him to England! If they’re paying his expenses, I can easily tag along. Mmmmm… We’ll have to sort out when it would fit into our crazy schedule, of course. Maybe early autumn? I’ll have to check the Insulae Draconis event schedule, too.

I’ve been daydreaming about Milford, because they just moved the venue to a gorgeous hotel in Snowdonia. I’m not sure I can swing this year, between two Styx concerts at the same time as the workshop, plus four OCW workshops. I’m tentatively planning next year, though. A week in Snowdonia in autumn doing writerly things with wonderful writerly people, and then maybe a week to wander around with Ken.

I went out to run errands, _finally_, but all I got to was Rite Aid. When I approached the freeway, it was a nightmare, so I cheerfully said, “Fuck this,” turned around, and came back home. In the process I realised I hadn’t eaten since breakfast…

Overall, little done so far today. I’ve been tired and now I’m vaguely headachey, although food (salad with feta and chicken grilled in soy sauce) helped, and more caffeine will be applied shortly I have, however, successfully re-installed Documents to Go on the computer and Palm, after figuring out that I needed to install updated Palm software, and now everything is syncing. Er, except for the phone. Need to sync that next. The important thing is that now I can use the Palm and keyboard for writing again.

I’ve also decided not to try and make the new outfit. I might play with it next week; otherwise, I’ll dive into it when I get back from my June travels.

Ken _is_ coming home tonight! Yay!
