Musings About Writing and Stories About Life

She's like the girl in the movie when the Spitfire falls
Like the girl in the picture that he couldn't afford
She's like the girl with the smile in the hospital ward
Like the girl in the novel in the wind on the moors

Blaze proposal: rewritten (again)

I got most of the tape transcribed yesterday, and then my beloved arrived! We went out to dinner at Mo’s, by the boardwalk, with Loren and Phaedra. The alfredo sauce was so-so but the fresh shrimp were fantastic. We watched otters playing the water!

Today Ken and I had lunch with Phaedra and Karen, and we all went to the Internet café again. Ken booked his tickets for Boston (last night we went through our calendars and planned various trips; it looks like Britain will be some time in mid-August, and the plan is to spend the non-work days in Snowdonia), I cleaned out e-mail, etc.

I checked to see when Styx would be playing Atlanta, where Phaedra lives. Turned out to be tonight. Oh. It made for a funny moment, though.

Ken left this evening, later than planned, but we were both fine with that. :-) I sat around chatting with folks for hours after that. Sheez. This has just not been a work day.

Oh! I can excitedly report an almost-sale! “Frozen”, which was originally published in Circlet Press’ _Dyke the Halls_ anthology, has made it to the final round for _Best Lesbian Erotica 2005_. About 70% of the works in this round will make it in the book. Fingers crossed… It’s a story I very much like.

I’m still not used to the fact that it doesn’t get dark here until after 9 p.m. Very strange being so far north again. It’s one of the reasons I’ve been staying up so late, I think. Need to break that habit, because I’ll need to be awake for the sessions this weekend. Thank goodness K&D aren’t morning people (we usually start at 10 a.m.).

There. Finished transcribing the tape. I’ve also rewritten the Blaze proposal _again_, after Loren and Dean bled all over it. We’re getting together with Chris York for lunch tomorrow and exchanging things for critique, and I really want to have her read this one.

We might do a matinee of “Chronicles of Riddick” tomorrow, and I’m trying to decide if I want to go to a classical concert with Kris in the evening.

But now, before 2 a.m., I’m going to bed.
