Musings About Writing and Stories About Life

She's like the girl in the movie when the Spitfire falls
Like the girl in the picture that he couldn't afford
She's like the girl with the smile in the hospital ward
Like the girl in the novel in the wind on the moors

Write, rinse, repeat

Always a Bridesmaid: final edits
WBG query letter: written, edited (several times until success)
Blaze synopsis: edited (again, for the final time)

Busy day. First we went to lunch with Chris York at The Inn at Spanish Head. I had a shrimp melt that was awesome (cream cheese in the mix, Tilamook cheddar on top), and their homemade potato chips are fantastic. Then we popped down to the Internet café for a final dump of e-mail; I also finally remembered to back up all the work I’ve done here. (Yeesh.)

After that, we went to see “Chronicles of Riddick”. Interesting movie. A hugely different feel from “Pitch Black”. Some things did make me laugh in inappropriate places. But the story sucked me through, and the visuals were stunning.

Phaedra and I (who share a brain) took a walk on the beach, then both hit the computers. After much review from Dean (who rocks rocks rocks), I have both the Blaze (now called _Trusting Nate_, which actually came from Kris) synopsis polished and a new WBG query letter. Phew. I wish I could live here and get this kind of feedback all the time! (Note to self: Bring more proposals to Work-for-Hire workshop in August!)

Just about everyone else for the weekend workshop showed up tonight, and it was cool to meet new people and say hello to folks I already knew. Now, however, it’s once again late (how does this happen?), so I must be off. Story Structure/Writing Faster starts tomorrow, and we’ll have writing assignments for this one…

Happy Dark Moon!
