Musings About Writing and Stories About Life

She's like the girl in the movie when the Spitfire falls
Like the girl in the picture that he couldn't afford
She's like the girl with the smile in the hospital ward
Like the girl in the novel in the wind on the moors

Separation and reconnection

Well damn. It’s over.

I’m on the plane home. I’m tired and it would be nice just to get there, but in the meantime I’ll try to get a little work done. The second workshop was exhilarating and exhausting. So much incredible information. In two hours, we did intensive notes on a novel idea each, followed by a synopsis (I now have a new Blaze in the pipeline, and even started the outlining). Hot damn.

At one point, we had the pagan couch: Phaedra, Thorn, and myself. I think we tilted the room. :-)

Gack, Phaedra and I didn’t even want to say goodbye at the airport. We were still talking a mile a minute. The last time I bonded with someone so quickly and completely, it was Teresa at the second (or was it third?) DCFWC nearly 15 years ago. No, I take that back. Margaret and I did the same thing back in ’98. That’s about it, though.

It’ll be good to be home, though, however briefly. I miss my beloved, my kitties, my stuff. And then tomorrow I’ll wing off to spend more than a week with my soulmate.

Can’t complain—not too much, anyway. And I’ll be back for the Work-for-Hire workshop in August (with Phaedra again—be afraid…).
