She's like the girl in the movie when the Spitfire falls
Like the girl in the picture that he couldn't afford
She's like the girl with the smile in the hospital ward
Like the girl in the novel in the wind on the moors

Muppetopoly!

Today we had lunch with Ma at Chili’s, then headed off to Norfolk to a Pagan store Sarah likes. I bought incense, cards, and another gift.

Fiona decided that she’s still scared of movie theatres, so instead of going to see “Shrek 2”, we rented movies. First we watched “Snow White: Fairest of them All”, which is an amazing and beautiful retelling. It pulled in a lot of different fairy tales and imagery. Miranda Richardson, as the Evil Queen, was stunning as always. Then we watched “School of Rock”, which was funnier than I expected—and we found the picture of Styx in the extra features, too. After Scott got home and Fiona had gone to bed, we watched “Grosse Pointe Blank”, one of my favourite movies. Scott’s a big John Cusack fan, too, but Sarah had never seen it.

Some time in the afternoon us three girls played Muppet Monopoly. Much silliness ensued. Fiona stomped all over us.

Vacations are fun. I’d prefer more of a balance between fun and work—at the very least, I wish Sarah had a real computer connection so I could get more caught up on e-mail, but I hate tying up her phone line for so long. But it’s good to relax, and I’m getting some reading done.
