Musings About Writing and Stories About Life

She's like the girl in the movie when the Spitfire falls
Like the girl in the picture that he couldn't afford
She's like the girl with the smile in the hospital ward
Like the girl in the novel in the wind on the moors

Once more into the breach

You know you’re really, really tired, when you find yourself standing on the scale weighing yourself…clutching a mug of tea.

I’m in PDX, waiting for Phaedra to arrive (about an hour now). I can’t decide if I’m hungry. I have a bit of a headache, but no drugs. Maybe I’ll buy drugs.

I had a headache on Tuesday and yesterday, possibly from getting a chiro adjustment w/o a massage first. Ceridwen worked on my neck yesterday and I did feel better. Alas, she’ll still be at Pennsic for my next appt, so I’ll have to get a massage at the chiropractor’s.

Yesterday we woke up at 5 a.m. I was truly startled when I realised it was noon and we’d run almost all our errands; it felt like 5 p.m. I have a tiny USB backup drive now, and we have a fireproof lock box for important papers. I turned back in my still-wrong contact (prescription this time) and picked up a few things at the drugstore. We picked up Ken’s bike from the shop, and in the afternoon went to see a guy about a home loan. We may actually be able to cut our payments in this transaction. Bizarre.

Maren came over to discuss Harvest stuff, and then we went to the Event Steward meeting. We cut out early because she had a meeting to go to and I had today’s 6:30 a.m. flight to look forward to. It’s kind of funny helping run an event that I won’t even live in the Barony for (although, of course we’ll be coming down for the event itself).

I also sorted some Black Oak stuff. Now, _that_ event will be easier to run now that I’ll be living in Darach again!

But now, it’s time to focus forward, to a week plus of intense writing and learning, and publication opportunities.
