Musings About Writing and Stories About Life

She's like the girl in the movie when the Spitfire falls
Like the girl in the picture that he couldn't afford
She's like the girl with the smile in the hospital ward
Like the girl in the novel in the wind on the moors

Best in a while

Words Written: AETW: 2569

Back in B&N, before 10 a.m. but not early enough to get a table. But I found a comfy chair, and am fortifying myself with a mocha frappucino. I have Anne Lamott’s Bird by Bird and a Nora Roberts for when I need a break.

I really hate this novel. Just wanted to mention that. Thank goodness for the workshop, or I’d probably never get it finished. Right now I think it’s stupid, and what was I thinking putting a kid in a book? Having the heroine be a mother? I know nothing of this. I’m not even finding the hero very sexy. Bored bored bored. Argh.

Thankfully, I know this will pass. It’s not unusual, and I’m way too close to the damned thing right now. I just need to finish it, move some stuff around, and get the full ms. to the workshoppers who are waiting for it.

Onwards.

Broke 2K at B&N, and went back to work in late afternoon at home after some phaffing around, but didn’t get as much more done as I’d hoped. Still, not a bad day; my best in a long time.
