Musings About Writing and Stories About Life

She's like the girl in the movie when the Spitfire falls
Like the girl in the picture that he couldn't afford
She's like the girl with the smile in the hospital ward
Like the girl in the novel in the wind on the moors

...oh.

Words Written: AETW: ??

Sigh. Be careful what you wish for.

Yesterday we had one of those big honkin’ State of Things discussion, which was unplanned and rather emotional, so it messed up both my schedule and ability to write. (Don’t worry, things are still wonderful between the two of us.)

The emotional upheaval bled over into today for me, and I was having a bad morning, missing Ken and not wanting to be alone.

Then he came home, very early, unexpectedly.

The new company let him go. Apparently he and his direct supervisor had different ideas/visions of what Ken’s job and duties should be. Just one of those bad-fit situations. Still, it sucks. Bigtime.

What a weird day. I did get some writing done, ‘though in the end, not a lot on AETW. I got some done on that, and then got four stories in the mail, and updated some market research. I also had a good chat with Phaedra, which isn’t writing, but is writing-related and was a good supportive thing.

I got a slight reprieve on the deadline for sending AETW to workshop people (everyone has the first 50 pp, proposal, and query letter), so that’s good. I’ve still got pressure to finish it, but it’s stress I can deal with, as opposed to not-sleeping stress.

Ken and I have just been trying to spend time together and talk about things, and make some plans and whatnot. We’ll be fine.

This entry seems very unemotional to me, which is strange, given what an emotional few days it’s been. I’m really, really tired, I guess. I’ll try to be back to my perky, chipper self tomorrow!
