She's like the girl in the movie when the Spitfire falls
Like the girl in the picture that he couldn't afford
She's like the girl with the smile in the hospital ward
Like the girl in the novel in the wind on the moors

Back still hurts. Chiropractor wasn’t open on Wednesday. Thursday, the pain moved left. Friday, went to chiropractor three times; on third visit, he said he got the joint to move. I think I felt it, too. But my back still hurts. Fuck.

Spent the afternoon and evening with Morgana and Brian. We went to our favorite antique warehouse, which is closing! :-( They bought a cabinet for videos and DVDs; I seriously considered an entrance bench/rack (which we want for the bedroom) but ultimately decided it wasn’t The One, and whimpered over a Welsh dresser that we really didn’t have the right place for. Brian made us awesome smoothies. Their box of books from their Britain trip arrived, so Morgana and I poured through those. We also ate Greek food and watched Firefly extras.

Then I came home and talked to Ken for a bit. He spent the day exploring roads around Bend, OR. He finished work Friday, and needed a day to be mellow. He’ll head to SF tomorrow, and flies to Korea on Monday.

I’m working on a central chapter of CSF that involves, as Teresa and I describe it, “lots of ‘Scooby-Doo’-ish skulking around.”

Well, I was. Now I’m going to bed.
