Musings About Writing and Stories About Life

She's like the girl in the movie when the Spitfire falls
Like the girl in the picture that he couldn't afford
She's like the girl with the smile in the hospital ward
Like the girl in the novel in the wind on the moors

The week ahead

Words written:
Monday: CSF editing
Tuesday: CSF editing; “Pledges of Allegience” (Battlecorps) editorial edits

It’s going to be a long, hard week, pets. I wonder how long it will take me to write this entry?

Let’s see. I finished CSF on Sunday (hurrah!) and started edits. I’m supposed to be just working on Teresa’s scenes/chapters, and then she’ll do a full-pass, after which I’ll do a full pass and theoretically we’ll be done. But I’m finding that I do have to read my own stuff, too, or I lose the flow. So it’s taking longer than expected. I also need to finish our co-written story for an upcoming Black Lace antho, and write one of my own—both due at the same time as the book. That would be Sunday night/first thing Monday. Mrph. The only bright spot in all of this is I have nothing currently scheduled for the weekend. But I can’t leave it all to be done on the weekend.

So, lots of stress. Lots of other things to do, the house is a mess, etc., etc., blah blah blah.

Yesterday, on the commute home, we saw more dolphins! And I spotted them first! Much happiness there.

And I found a nearby grocery that sells this year’s official Best New Crack: Godiva dark chocolate ice cream. Oh my gods…just thinking about it makes my eyes start to roll back into my head.

Ooh! Hey! I just sold another Battlecorps story! A big long one, too. Go me!

I sent CSF off to Teresa so she could do her first pass edit. It was just taking me too long. I’ll have more time at the end of the week to do a deeper edit after she’s done.

I also accepted the edits for the new Battlecorps story, “Pledges of Allegience,” and got that back to the editor. I got a few words done on “All About the Ratings” for Wicked Words, but not enough to count. Must focus on that tomorrow, and then on “Breakfast in Bed,” my own story for WW.
