She's like the girl in the movie when the Spitfire falls
Like the girl in the picture that he couldn't afford
She's like the girl with the smile in the hospital ward
Like the girl in the novel in the wind on the moors

Words Written: “The Brinks Job”: some amount of words on Friday

Just a quick note to say we're home from the War. A pleasant time with friends, although I wish we could've left much earlier today and had the evening at home. Spent way too much money on a non-SCA corselette/waist cincher order, and bought a few other smaller things, including some gifts. I also taught myself kumihimo braiding (I'd bought the disk at Crown Tourney last month)-just what I needed, a new weaving obsession. It makes such a pretty spiral braid, though… Got a painfully wonderful massage from Ceridwen, who resisted my efforts to convince her to move to Ventura County, dammit.

Came home to one rejection, one “thanks for the submission, we'll be responding soon,” and many lovely congrats on the latest sales, as well as some requested advice on some upcoming decisions about some projects.

I'm working at home tomorrow because I have Dental Hell scheduled in the morning. Woo.

Lately Listened To: blessed silence thanks to the earplugs I wear at night at War
