Musings About Writing and Stories About Life

She's like the girl in the movie when the Spitfire falls
Like the girl in the picture that he couldn't afford
She's like the girl with the smile in the hospital ward
Like the girl in the novel in the wind on the moors

Monday again

Words written: DFL outlining, of a sort

We've determined that Afalwen's problem is a screen connection, and Ken re-backed everything up yesterday, so now I have multiple backups of all my writing files, system information, preferences, &tc. He may be able to fix the connection, or he may be dropping it off at an Apple store before he leaves for Portland on Wednesday.

I'm feeling good about DFL, though. Reading Goal, Motivation & Conflict all the way straight through has helped, and this morning, with Palm and keyboard, I sketched out the next few scenes as well as key ones throughout the book. I can't plot all the way through—it just isn't how my brain works—but it helps to have an idea of the key points to shoot for. Ken also helped me brainstorm some stuff during one of our flights, which was a huge help.

Now, to find the time to write!

Working at home tomorrow, because we have ophthalmology appointments. Perhaps I'll be able to concoct a more interesting journal entry. But I'm not promising, so don't hold your breaths.
