Hello everyone and welcome to PREMIERE WEEK here at "S.T.".

All of your favorites are here plus PREMIERE'S of some exciting new features!

Today we are happy to introduce our new Monday feature HOME THEATRE!

HOME THEATRE is brought to you by...
DR. CHILL SUPER CHILL. For your SUPER THIRST.
Have you been rated?

And now your bloggy host Jim Farris.

Hi Silly Thinkers and welcome to HOME THEATRE.
On this new feature we will review DVD's for your home viewing enjoyment. SO let's get started!

First up is the two disc set of "CONCERT FOR GEORGE" the memorial concert honoring George Harrison, November 29th 2002.
Stars: Eric Clapton,Ravi Shankar, Monty Python, Dajani Harrison, Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers, Ringo Starr, Paul McCartney, and many others.
DVD release: Warner Music Group.

This two disc set is a magnificent package featuring:
the entire concert on disc one and the theatrical release film on disc two. The concert is brimming with great performances with everyone playing at thier peak. By the way the profits from this DVD go to George Harrison's Material World Charitable Foundation so Warner's isn't pushing it into stores but a purchase is better than a rental.

Extra features are a bounty of fun featuring "Monty Python All Access Backstage Pass" with the Python's rehearsing and playing backstage (by the way John Cleese couldn't make it. See if you can spot the guest artist filling him for him!)and interviews with all the participants and rehearsal footage.

Do your self a favor and see this remarkable event.

2. "THE LITTLE FOXES" (1941) the Lillian Hellman play adapted for the screen starring Bette Davis, Teresa Wright, Herbert Marshall, and Dan Duryea.
Directed by William Wyler and produced by Samuel Goldwyn.
DVD release: MGM.
Beautiful digital transfer brings out the rich black and white photography (by Greg Toland "Citizen Kane") and assures this film's place as an all time classic. One of Bette Davis's best screen performances, and certainly one of William Wyler's ("Ben-Hur", "Funny Girl", "The Collector") greatest screen triumphs.
If you want to know what kind of people run this country see this film.

Extra features consist of the theatrical trailer and multi language tracks.

3. "ROSEMARY'S BABY" (1968)Roman Polanski's timeless adaptation of the Ira Levin bestseller stars Mia Farrow. John Cassavetes, Ruth Gordon (oscar winner for best supporting actress), and Ralph Bellamy.
DVD release: Paramount.
Chilling horror film is practically gore free. I have seen this film many times but still have to look away at suspensful spots. Polanski is at the top of his game here and Mia Farrow became a movie star after this film's release.

Extra features are a must! The "Behind the Scenes" documentary (made in '68) is a profile of Roman and Mia and serves as a time capsule of the late sixties. Hearing Polanski talk of California, the love generation, and seeing him with his wife Sharon Tate at thier home in Beverly Hills is haunting. Mia Farrow had just come back from India, with the Beatles, and paints her dressing room with peace and love flowers.
The second documentary, a retrospective made in 2000, with comments by Richard Sylbert, Polanski, and Paramount studio chief (at the time) Robert Evans is nicely done and compliments this great horror classic.

Well that's Home Theatre for this week. I hope you enjoyed it and be sure to drop me a line with comments and suggestions by posting a comment right here at the prompt on the page.

Join us tommorow for "The Marlon Brando Show" on it's new day and time.
