Your guide for what’s new on DVD and other home viewing tips.

1. “The Last Samurai” starring Tom Cruise. Tries for, aches for, epic class filmmaking and falls a little short. Cruise is beginning to seem the same in every performance but the film is lush and the fights are well done.

2. “Torch Song Trilogy” made in 1988, film stars Harvey Fierstein recreating his Broadway hit play. Explores the gay life style at the height of the AIDS crisis and does it with a whacked sense of humor. Anne Bancroft is terrific as Harvey’s mom.

3. “The Triplets of Bellville” stylized and wonderfully drawn by humans, this French animated film is destined to be a classic.

4. “Saved By The Bell” Complete Third and Fourth Seasons DVD Collection. Buy this and have your very own Screechathon.

5. “The Monster Legacy Collection” to promote the new film “Van Helsing” Universal is releasing all their classic monster movies in a classy DVD set. “Dracula” with Bela Lugosi, “Frankenstein” with the one and only Boris Karloff, and “Wolf Man” with Lon Chaney Jr. Money well spent.

6. “Love Actually” stars Hugh Grant and Emma Thompson, was a champagne cocktail of a Christmas picture and should be charming in your front room as well.

7. “The Last Of Shelia”. Great sleazy Hollywood whodunit written by Stephen Sondhiem and stars Dyan Cannon, Anthony Perkins, James Mason, and many other famous suspects. A guilty pleasure.

8. “The Girl With Pearl Earring” beautifully made period piece from last year. The costumes should look great on DVD.

9. “Stuck On You” Fox is stuck with this under performing Farrely Brothers movie about Siamese twins that I actually really liked. If you buy it now they throw in some other piece of crap for free.

10. “Chasing Liberty” starring Mandy Moore bombed in theatres but all agree a new hunk was born with co-star Matthew Goode.

Before we go lets look at how well we did on STML picking the weekend B.O. in theatres this week.

We SUCK!

We picked "Envy" with Jack Black and Ben Stiller to be number one. It came in at #6.
#1 was "Mean Girls" from "Saturday Night Live". We slotted it at #5.

#2 "Man On Fire". We got one right.

#3. "13 Going On 30" We placed it at #7.

#4. "Laws Of Attraction". We picked it at #3.

#5. "Godsend". We picked it at #4.

STIS!
