FROM THE STATE ARTS COUNCIL!

What films will be popular this week? What films will you be allowed to view?

Let’s take a look at what will be successful this week at THE STATE CONTROLLED BOX OFFICES AT CINEMAS ACROSS THE COUNTRY!!!!

1. “Around The World In Eighty Days”. This dumb dumb, tepid, “family” comedy with Jackie Chan has actually gotten some decent reviews (I saw it and thought it sucked the pipe) and it got a two day jump on the competition by being released on Wednesday.

2. “The Terminal”. Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg combine for another comedy drama (after “Catch Me If You Can”) and they usually do pretty well at the box office.

3. “Dodgeball”. With Ben Stiller and Vince Vaughn is getting nice notices if you call being compared to everything from “Caddyshack” to “Ski Party” nice.

4. “Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban”. By far the best “Potter” picture should have “legs” and continue to do good business this summer.

5. “The Chronicles of Riddick”. With Vin Diesel reprising his role of Riddick from the dark sci- fi hit “Pitch Black” ,
and a lot of special effects, this supposed mediocre sequel should hold.

6. “Shrek 2”. Now the most successful animated film of all time (out grossing “Finding Nemo” this week) should keep playing all summer.

7. “Garfield” this movie based on the comic strip and “Garfield stick on the back window of the car” dolls is still playing in the Cineplex’s for children who have seen “Shrek 2”, “Harry Potter” and “Around The World…” twice. Look for the new summer movie based on the bumper sticker “My Child Is an Honor Student” series next summer from the same people.

8. “The Day After Tomorrow” disaster movie based on the never ending Reagan funeral is holding strong.

9. “The Stepford Wives” Australian wives are turned into American women in this science fiction shocker that only got so- so reviews.

10. “Troy” the studio has recut this picture down to close ups of Brad Pitt and crotch shots and it’s still playing.

OK, Now go to the state theatres, but remember to go early to catch “THE 20” or you will be PUNISHED, PUNISHED BY BEING MADE TO WATCH “THE 20”…

THAT’S RIGHT… YOU CAN’T WIN. HA HA HA HA HA HA!
