CC: Good afternoon again. This is Breaking News from ST on the imminent explosion of Mt. St. Helens in western Washington state.
Scientists from the U.S. Geological Institute are holding a press conference right now to update the situation at the volcano.
The volcano is rumbling even more now and scientists are now convinced that volcanic magma will come to the surface, there is steam now coming from the mountain at regular intervals but the geologists assure the public that this is normal for this time of year, but admit it is happening with increased frequencies.
The magma is not gas rich, and that means a series of small to moderate explosions could occur anytime in the next month. These explosions could, in fact it is probable, will emit ash for up to 20 miles…

THIS IS BREAKING NEWS From ST!

Here from ,the University of Miami Campus is Connie Chung.

CC: Good afternoon again. We are interrupting our Breaking News on the volcano for this Breaking News on a major American offensive in Iraq.
Moments ago thousands of American troops moved into Samarra, a city the U.S. agreed not to enter months ago. This Is one of the largest American offensives of the war and it is against the insurgents. Troops are going, literally, street by street, hoping to weed out anti-American, anti Iraqi, religious extremists.
This has just begun after a bloody day in Baghdad where over 50 people were killed at an American military supported event to open a sewage plant in Baghdad. 35 children were killed along with an unknown number of American soldiers. Just before the suicide bombings the troops were giving the children candy.
Iraqi government officials, American troops, and of course Iraqi children were wounded and killed on a day that was to be celebration of a new start in the war torn country. Now a major military move in a city that was off limits to the Americans, based on their own agreement, that now is, obviously, broken.

CC: Well that’s all the time we have for our preview of the debate, join us later for a live analysis of the debate….

CC: Good afternoon again. The U.S. Forest service has just announced that, as a safety precaution, and only a precaution, it has suspended all climbing and hiking on Mt. St. Helen’s. Repeat all movement on the mountain has been halted and all movement for three miles surrounding the mountain has been banned. Effectively an evacuation for the three mile radius around the volcano has been enforced.

CC: Again, we will be back whenever news breaks, and tonight with a post debate analysis.
