STEditorial: We No Longer Find This Acceptable

This is an STEditorial.

ST no longer finds this acceptable.

When the Republican Governor of Alabama is asked by a reporter how he thought the President did today, on a tour of the decimated Gulf Coast, the best thing he could say was “He was… focused…”
And The President said: “I realize… this problem will… take… more than a day… to think about…” we need to change.

When a major city in The United States is left to fend for itself after the worst disaster in American history, resulting in death and further destruction, and it seems to be because the powerful don’t care for the disenfranchised.. it’s time for a change.

When the government shifts millions of dollars off of rebuilding the life saving levy’s in Louisiana to fund an immoral war. We say enough is enough.
And when apologists for the Bush Administration say that project wouldn’t have made any difference anyway, we need to change.

When national talk show host Rush Limbaugh goes on the air and says “Nobody made those people live there…”. We need to think about swift trials and firing squads.

When corporate greed contributes to civil unrest and personal greed feeds that unrest, we say enough is enough.

Over a hundred years ago the Supreme Court stated that corporations in this country have the same rights as a human citizen, we say that’s a lie and the law should be changed. You can’t buy Congress, your corporate neighbor can and did.

When the President of Wal Mart steps before the camera’s to trumpet the fact that his greedy, cold, company is giving away stuff, and is framed in front of the Wal Mart logo, that reads as “W AR” . We say “Thank You. Got the message.” And enough is enough.

When that same Wal Mart CEO is asked if he thought the arsenal of weapons looted in Wal Mart stores contributed to the violence and he stumbles and tries to stay on message by saying “…that stuff will work itself out.” We need to change.

When the government is more involved in killing it’s citizens than protecting them. We say enough is enough.

The United States Government is allowing babies to die in the arms of mothers, in broad daylight, on the streets of a major American city because of a lack of simple human compassion. It’s time for a change.

When Ted Koppel says that the governor of Louisiana didn’t ask for help in the right way and that why the federal government didn’t move quickly enough, we say: Ted get off the FUCKING AIR you moron.

We say we have to change our lifestyles, examine our compassion as human beings, and ask do you want this to be you’re country?

We here at ST don’t. We don’t find this acceptable. We, as Americans should be ashamed of ourselves. Ashamed because we have let the two party system become Republican, and Republican lite, we have let the government take away our basic freedoms and replace them with Game Boys. We have embraced a Capitalist consumer culture that is destroying the Eco system of the world and our very souls.

We no longer find The United States Of America to be acceptable.

What do you think?

(Be sure to join ST for our HI- larious fall premieres, we got a show about two talking cats, a monkey, sexy nurses, and more!! ST IS HEATING UP THE FALL!! ALL FALL LONG!!!!)
