Tonight I took an hour long walk by myself (Tim was beat from finishing up the issue at work). I can't remember the last time I spent that long walking by myself without a destination. I walked to the hill where there's a view of the lake, then decided to go down the hill to the lake itself, then along the shore to the playground (I thought maybe my sister and nephew were there; just missed them). There were so many people out, walking, jogging, strolling, walking dogs along the lake. Very warm and cozy and just darn nice.

An hour walk in my neighborhood is a pretty good workout, since it's all up and down hills. Coming back from the lake was the worst; there's actually a spot where you can take stairs that are steep enough to nearly climb like a ladder (and we're talking the equivalent to three flights of stairs like this). Oof. Good for me. I wish I could make myself do this every day. I'm already getting sore.

I came back and waved at Holly and Aleister through her window. She invited me in, and offered me a hard-boiled egg, which she'd seen me eyeing. Protein cravings after a workout are normal, right? Anyway, I taught Aleister a couple new tricks, and we had him walk the runway for us (they housesat and watched TiVoed episodes of America's Next Top Model last weekend). Then we did some crumpin'. Aleister is such a cutie. I'm really lovin' having them so close by so that I can just drop in and hang out whenever. Really nice.

Gotta go spend some time with my man now, though. I think he could use some snugglin'.

Ta!
