My Future

Welcome to my life, my future. I confess to avoiding too much *research* beyond the iconic team of specialists I have at Vanderbilt in Nashville. I do better to focus on the present and to embrace each day with gratitude.

IPF is a disease to suddenly arrive on the radar... though it has been around for a very, very long time with misdiagnosis. My mother died 3 years ago and most likely died of IPF. Her death certificate listed Hypoxia as the cause. Essentially, that is what will take me.

IPF is still widely unknown, yet more will die from IPF this year than those with breast cancer. Actually, more people will be diagnosed with IPF than breast cancer. And actually, IPF is more aggressive than most cancers. Welcome to my life, my future.
