Reporting

I'm a bit weary tonight but am trying to complete some partial posts I started a while back. Life has been busy and this is good, but I've missed you all. I think about you more than you might realize.

I took Rhubarb's death a bit hard. I truly think she was the most brilliant woman I've ever read. I never measured up to her standards, and her politics sometimes drove me nuts *laughing*, but I so wholly respected her brilliance. I'm actually quite annoyed that we'll no longer have the opportunity to read her words of wit and extreme intelligence. She is of the likes of no one else I've ever met so that has made the loss even greater.

I MUST give a quick update regarding my health. A couple of days ago I spent a long day at Vanderbilt. It was all easy-breezy, but it was a long day of painless tests and doctor visits and a three hour roundtrip drive. I also spent time with one of my researchers reviewing clinical trials to consider now that I've completed my trial with Fibrogen.

Omigoodness. I'm forgetting to mention the good stuff! Since my diagnosis 13 months ago, per an HD CAT there is no new fibrotic scarring on my lungs. That's HUGE! I also took a 6 minute walking test with 2 liters of Oxygen (what I've used since my diagnosis) and my oxygen saturation never went lower than 93%. That's also HUGE! My Pulmonary Function Tests were lower this time but about the same as my diagnosis date. That's also HUGE! Of great importance, my pulmonary function tests improved a lot when I was living in Nashville last winter and was doing 1 1/2 hours of cardio 5 or 6 days each week. Since moving back to the mountain full time, I haven't maintained the cardio discipline... life simply gets in the way. I have a house to maintain, a yard... it's all good stuff but a distraction to healthy routines. Tonight I got back on the treadmill for 30 minutes. I can have those better PFT results again!

I'm a bit tired right now so will gab another day about the new clinical trial I'm enrolling in. It's a good one - very similar ingredients as the clinical trial I just completed.

Nighty-Night.
