Bar Day

I've been insanely busy with my beautiful life - to include last week when my youngest, David, appeared before the Chief Justice of Tennessee's Supreme Court to take the Bar oath.

It wasn't until that moment when he was introduced to the Justices that I experienced a rush of deep, deep core emotion.

I'm so fortunate because I have three splendid children. The three wake up every morning and love what their careers offer. They are truly amazing on so many levels. But David and I spent many years together in the trenches. We lived paycheck to paycheck with him never knowing that with one tiny misstep we could've become homeless. So much goodness came from those years of struggle. They were inventive years. It was during that time when David started to formulate his life-narrative. There have been a couple of edits, but he's always kept a tight focus on his goals.

So as he stood there so tall and handsome and accomplished and humble and eager... well, as I've said many times, "I am one lucky woman."
