Santa on the Highway

I saw Santa Claus driving a Miata today.

I was heading up the beltline to North Raleigh during my lunch break to check a proof for a secret project I'm working on, and I noticed in my rear view mirror a small red car zooming up beside me in the fast lane. As it passed, I caught a glimpse of white beard, spectacles, and red stocking cap. He quickly sped by me, and I saw that the top was down, the wind whipping through his beard and causing his cap to flutter like a mad windsock.

The tag on the Miata read CRITER. I'm still not quite sure what it means.

I raised my hand to wave, but he was already past, speeding down the highway, presumably for some last-minute gifts before the Endless Night. Godspeed, Nicholas.
