Janet and I were both feeling sick yesterday (her nose and my stomach), so we did a whole lot of nothing. It was one of those days where I got tired of something after fifteen minutes and was antsy to do something else, but I didn't feel like leaving the apartment. I would check email, then go watch some tv, then turn that off and try to read, then get up and check my journal, &c. Part of it may have been the fact that I didn't get to sleep until 6:30 a.m. That's right. I've been having terrible bouts of insomnia lately, but at least I got to see the sunrise yesterday. Janet woke me up with a kiss on the shoulder around 1 p.m.

In contrast, today I cleaned the apartment. I'm pretty much a slob most of the time, but every so often I get the urge to do some spring cleaning (though I guess right now it would be summer cleaning). I dusted and vacuumed and washed and wiped. The only things I didn't get to were cleaning the bathtub, and tidying up the bedroom. It's been a while since the apartment has been so clean, and it feels nice.

We're going to see Dat Phan (the 2003 Last Comic Standing) tonight at Charlie Goodnights. I was rooting for Dat from the beginning of last year's show, and it makes me happy to see his continuing success. I'm very much looking forward to the show. We'll go after having curry tonight, which is cooking right now and smells delicious.

Tomorrow afternoon, we'll join Andreas and Luna for a photographical trip to Durham's Museum of Life and Science and Butterfly House. It's been a while since I've whipped out the camera, so it should be fun.

Next week, Tim and Heather will be in town; we're trying to arrange a dinner excursion along with Mike and Elizabeth. It'll be nice to see the PrattShaws again (and I owe Heather a big hug for publishing "Skin Flute"), as well as the Jaspers, who we haven't seen since the RenFaire in April. I always have fun with such smart and funny people.

And the commercials for the new Exorcist movie (which looks pretty cool, especially with Stellan Skarsgård as the lead), compel me to provide the following link: The Exorcist in 30 Seconds (And Re-enacted by Bunnies).
