Second Star on the Right . . .

On a happier note, I just finished watching the new movie, "Peter Pan," last night and while expecting little recieved much.

You know, there's just something about that story that makes my heart sing (and let's just lay off the Peter-Pan Syndrome jokes, whaddayasay?). The Lost Boys, Captain Hook, mermaids, pirates, indians, epic sword battles, teddy bears (and the teddy bear deserves a best supporting actor nomination, in my humble opinion. I've never seen a director use a prop so effectively in my entire life.)

So maybe I'm just gushing over a favorite story here, but it's nice to see a version done with the heart and unashamed joy of being alive that this one has.

So go treat yourself. Sew your shadow back on and talk your sweetie into giving you a thimble. Put your cynicism on hold for a day and go be a child for a couple'a hours.

You won't be disappointed. Anyone who can't enjoy this movie doesn't deserve to be alive.

Joseph Haines, signing off from The Edge of the Abyss.
