It wasn't too bad a week actually, just busy. Too busy to write much, or read much, or play my guitar. And I didn't do as much training as I'd have liked, but enough.

The novel is stalled. I have the next five or six scenes in my head and scribbled on note cards. My only problem is that I don't know in what order they should go. And some of these scenes require some twiddling with some previous scenes. It shouldn't have me stalled, but it does.

It was a busy week for work and I dealt with some less than grateful clients. Mary worked (yes, it's tax season) and I had to run the house and work. And to top it off, a girl in my son Ben's class convinced him that his freckles make him ugly. He's almost 10.

However, on Friday, I spent some overdue quality time with Ben. He tagged along to my guitar lesson with me and then we went and had pizza together. And we talked about things. Like why some kids are just mean, and how their opinions don't matter. After dinner, I took him to Hollywood Video and let him rent a PlayStation game. Back home, he played his game, and I read. We talked some more. He watched some TV before he went to sleep.

And before he went to sleep, he came into the office, hugged me, and said, "You're the best Dad ever."

I guess it was a good week after all.
