I went to my favorite writing place tonight -- Barnes and Noble in Dublin, CA. I ate a chocolate chunk cookie and washed it down with nonfat milk (I'm not a coffee drinker) and started reading my novel. I was putting off doing this, but I am sure this is just what I needed to do to get back on track. I made notes while I was reading, about minor (and some major) changes I need to make before moving ahead.

Earlier today, I took a long lunch, and went up to the 18th floor of our building with a legal pad and a pen and my CD player, and I listed all the scenes I have been thinking about writing, but haven't written. This was good, too, because as I was doing this, it all started to take shape again.

So, I should be stacking up wordage within the week.

The 18th floor of my building is pretty nice. Soft comfy couches, and picture windows which overlook the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge. There wasn't anyone playing ping-pong, which was an added bonus.

It's been busy. My son turned 10 this weekend, so we had events Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Monday was the kid party at Laser Quest. How did I do? I came in 23rd out of 24 people. Mostly kids, some adults, and four or five teenagers who were playing every game. Laser addicts, whatever.
