Went to a "concert" last night. The Gaither Homecoming. The better half likes them so I took her. I personally never paid much attention to them. Boy, what a mistake. The quality of the vocals was phenomenal. I was sure they were lip syncing because their vocals were so damn perfect. Now I am a stickler for vocals, having been a voice major in college. If it is just slightly off pitch it makes me cringe. And it wasn't the easy stuff. They were singing some fantastic riffs. They covered the range from top to bottom. I'm not into the gospel stuff per se but I really enjoyed them for their musical talent. The venue left something to be desired. It was at the Liacouras Center on Temple University Campus in Philadelphia. A made over basketball court. Not the best setting for acoustics. How they killed the ehco was a job well done. It was all a little bassy for my taste which made the lyrics a little hard to make out. But the singing was as sharp as a razor. A good night was had by all.
