Over the past 2 months I have been having regular weekend fun. I don't know if anyone knows this about me but I play and play at guitar. Been doing it since I was 15. Alway been mediocre at best. Well at least until these last 2 years. About 2 years ago I stumbled across a local boy who played lead guitar for a fairly well know 90's hair band. Not one of the greatest but they did have their moments. His name is Michael Kelly Smith from Britny Fox. Some of you might remember "Girlschool". Well, anyway, I was lucky enough to have him give me some lessons. Had to stop when I became temporarily unemployed. But he help me alot.

Back to the last 2 months. I have met and become friends with a bunch of guys from different local bands and we all get together and spend an entire saturday jamming every couple of weeks. For example, 2 weeks ago we had 6 guitarist, a bass player, 2 drummers, 1 harmonica and the guy that puts it all together on the keyboards. We play just about anything. From Jimmy Hendricks to Alan Jackson. Talk about versatility. Jammin and barbecuing and consuming large quantities of beer. Maybe jump in the pool and cool off after one too many hot licks. Well, we are doing it again this weekend and I am just itching for saturday to get here. (Or maybe thats the poison ivy I got into last weekend.)

Anyway, it is the best of times.

Speaking of "Best of Times" I just found out that Styx and Kansas together are performing on the 10th of this month at a nearby musikfest in Bethelem. One night and they are sold out. ARRRGGGGGGG! Wonder if I can find a scalper. I just gotta go. Crossing my fingers. The arena is next to a river so maybe I'll just get a boat and drop anchor.

Hurry up saturday.
