Sunday afternoon I developed a sneeze. About an hour later a cough developed. No big deal. Common cold. Not. An hour later I have the shivers and can barely get out of my chair. Ok, so now I know I have a fever. Ok, so I do what I have always done to break the fever. I jump in the hot tub for 20 minutes. Volia. Fever broke. But we are no where near done. About 8 pm the fever is back. I crash for the night. I wake up at 2 am coughing so hard I almost blacked out several times. This keeps up til morning when I decide to take my temp. It comes in at 102.2. I always heard to contact you doctor with fever over 102 so I make the call. Well, wouldn't you know it. No slots available to get in. Receptionist says she would give my symptoms to the doctor on duty and he would call me to let me know what to do. I wait about 4 hours and nothing from the doctor. By now my temp. is 103.8. I call back and let them know the new temp and she says the doctor will get back to me. An hour and a half goes by and the fever is 105.2. I have just about given up on the doctor. I jump in the hot tub to try to break the fever but since the max temp on the hottub is 104 this doesnt work. I'm hotter than the hottub. So I get out and slam a 24 oz. ice cold pepsi. Ahhh. I can see the steam. within 20 minutes the temp is down to 102. It is now 5 am on tuesday morning and the temp is 101.7. Not a word from the doctor. Guess he has all the money he needs for that hawaii vacation. With temps at 105 I could of had a stroke. Someone really needs to give this guy a attitude adjustment.

Update---It is now 8:30 am and the doctors receptionist calls me asking me if I needed to get in to see the doctor today. I said no, my temp is 99.4 now. She now finally says if it goes above 103 again to go to the emergency room. Idiots. I could be dead right now. They wait 24 hours to tell me to go to the emergency room? I could of had a medicine man jumping around and shaking his rattles and it would have been more helpful than modern medicine. You would think when the doc saw my temp at 103+ he could have spared 1 minute to call and say to get my ass to the emergency room. I hope he gets leprosy in Hawaii.
