If there were a theme for last weekend, it was running. Marcelo was out of town Thursday - Sunday so it was just me and Marc. We went to the park on Saturday for a play date and he played in the sand just enough to get filthy and then ran, ran, ran the rest of the time. Then we went to the Mills to the Market Broiler to take my mother-in-law out for her birthday. It's a pretty nice restaurant, so I was not-so-happy about having a struggling toddler who wanted down. While we were waiting, I took him out and let him run some more. Then, during dinner when he was done eating, he wanted down again. Luckily my brother-in-law was done too and he took him out to run. He kept running up to girls outside and charming them. :) I thought he'd sleep great that night after being so tired out, but the teething monster has hit again and it's either an eye tooth or a molar and I've heard that those are the worst. He was up 4 times! Ugh.

Sunday, we went to the Aquarium of the Pacific with Danny and Jess. While we were waiting for them to get there we watched the fountain which was a hit. :) I think if we'd driven all the way down there just to see the fountain, he still would have been happy. He ran all around and chased the birds while we were waiting. Once they showed up, we went inside and looked at all the fish. When he saw one he liked he'd say Wooooooow. :) It was so cute! He also showed off his new word - Eieio.

Every time I put him down to look at the tanks, he'd take a look and run off in the other direction. So there was more running... He loved the touch tanks, though the shark touch tank made me a little nervous. He just likes splashing in the water and it attracted a swarm of them. At the end of the day, Jess and I took a break and Danny took him to run some more. I swear - he only learned to walk about 3 months ago and he went straight to running. An exuberant child. :)
