Labor Day weekend is one I'd usually avoid at Disneyland at all costs. But we went twice this weekend and I was pleasantly surprised. Marcelo was gone all weekend (Thursday through today) and I had to work a ton this weekend.

On Saturday, I worked most of the day until about 4. Then I turned off the computer and said "Do you want to go to Disneyland?". I was rewarded with a huge smile and a big "Yeah!". And then "Da choo-choo? Tunnels? Buzz? Tinkerbell? Pooh? Goofy? Ticky Mouse? Castle? Dumbo?" We spent a few hours there, but only got to go on the Disneyland Railroad and Pooh and have dinner. Pooh was a nice surprise - we usually don't get to it but Buzz wasn't working that night so we had time.

Yesterday was wonderful. I got a reprieve from work at about 2, so we headed out. We took the train over to Fantasyland. When he heard the announcement that the train was coming he screamed "Choo-Choo coming!" with such excitement he startled one of the conductors on the platform. :) After the train, we got to go on Dumbo, the Carousel, the Casey Jr. Train, and Buzz. That's way more than we usually get to do in a day and a special treat because we don't usually even go to Fantasyland. We finished the day with the 50th Anniversary Parade. It was our first time seeing it and he loved it. It was actually his first parade at all. I put him up on my shoulders so he could see. I've never really cared about the parades, but I loved it seeing it through his eyes. As soon as it started I got a running commentary from him. "Yook, Mommy, yook! Tinkerbell! Yook, Mommy! Fish! (Little Mermaid float) Yook, Mommy, yook! Ticky Mouse!" Definitely a day to remember.
