Hold on a minute!

It's the strangest thing when I hear my words come out of my son's mouth. In the past few days, he's started saying "Hold on a minute! I'm coming!" which tends to be my answer whenever I hear a "Mommy, come on!" from him.

Last night we went to the LA County Fair and all day he'd been excited about seeing the animals. We met my brother-in-law and sister-in-law there and they took him to see the trains first. I'd never seen it before, but they have a huge model train setup in the middle of the fairgrounds. Marc loved it. Afterwards, we went to see the farm animals. Predictably, he was afraid of the small animals like the rabbits, but not the bigger animals like the horses, cows, and pigs. (I'm not sure why this is always true, but I think it has to do with dogs. He loves dogs, but the big ones are always calm with him and the little ones jump on him and scratch him.) Even though he'd been dying to see the animals all day, the whole time we were over there he wanted to go back to see the trains. His favorite train was the "cow choo-choo" though... :)
