Yesterday morning was one of those times when you know you can't laugh, but it's just so hard not to. It's a good thing he couldn't see my face. ;)

Nearly every morning, Marc wants to bring something to day care (a toy, a book, etc). I always tell him no because the other kids will take it or he'll lose it, and the director has asked that kids not bring toys in from home.

Yesterday morning, it was a picture book of trains that he wanted to bring. He started asking about 5 minutes before we left the house and continued asking until I dropped him off. As I was buckling him into his car seat, he said "I want to bring my train book to school." I was sick of him asking, but I don't like to say "no" over and over. So, I said "I hear you. I understand that you want to bring it to school, but I said no. It will get lost."

About 5 minutes later, as we're arriving at the school he asks again and I say "no" again. So he says "I hear you, but I say yes." Once I controlled the laughter trying to escape, I think I actually used the "Well, I said no and I'm the mom" line. ;)
