After a brave fight with cancer, Marcelo's grandfather has passed away. He was the most stubborn old man I've ever met, but one of the most loving as well.

He and Marcelo's grandmother have lived with my father-in-law and stepmother-in-law for a few years and we go there every Tuesday for dinner. Alex also went there every day for a few months while my stepmother-in-law did day care for me until she had to devote full time care to Tata. Tata absolutely adored Alex. He called him "Siete" or "Lucky Number Seven" because he is the 7th great-grandchild. I first met him at their 50th anniversary party which was 10 years ago next month. After Marcelo introduced me to him, he turned to Marcelo and said "This is the One."

He will be greatly missed. He was the strong backbone of the family.
