Marc continues to astound me. The most recent thing he's into is animals. He's been watching Baby Einstein World Animals and reading his animal books a lot. Yesterday, we were driving down the freeway and he points out the window at the lovely SoCal winter landscape. "Look, Mommy! Savanna!" So, I looked where he pointed and indeed, the hilly area covered in tall dried grass along the freeway did in fact look something like savanna grasslands.

Also, while watching the same video, each section/featured animal is accompanied by a piece of classical music. During one part, he says something about Saturn's rings and I realized that the music playing was Symphony No. 9, "From the New World" by Antonín Dvořák, which is the same piece of music featured in the Little Einsteins episode about Saturn. He also "Hall of the Mountain King" which plays during the tiger section as being from the Dragon Kites episode of Little Einsteins.

He can identify every animal in the video, from wombats to macaws. He can also identify the same animals in different settings, so I know he's not just memorizing sections of the video.
