Drawing and representation

Marc has recently made a huge leap. His drawings have change from mostly random shapes where he'd have to tell me what it is ("That's a choo-choo, Mommy!") to really looking like something. He has an easel with a whiteboard on it and he drew a person with a distinct head, face, legs, etc. The eyes and pupils were huge and it looked remarkably skeletal. When I asked who it was, he told me "Jack Skellington". :) The boy has good taste. He's also pretty good at drawing rocketships.

The other day he was drawing when I went to pick him up at day care. When I asked what it was, he told me it was a whale which is exactly what it looked like to me. It had some circular-ish shapes around it. I asked if they were fish (though they didn't really look like it) and he told me that no, they were bubbles (duh! LOL).

Also, I've noticed that when playing with things like Mr. Potato Head, he now puts all the parts in the right places instead of putting them randomly on the face like he used to.
