Christmas fun

Our Christmas was an exhausting whirlwind of activity, but so much fun. Both the boys were so excited about Christmas.

On Christmas Eve night, we went over to my father-in-law and step-mother-in-law's house. We had pizza and baked and decorated cookies with my sister-in-law and exchanged gifts. The kids played with the train around the Christmas tree and their new presents and had a grand time. We got a big surprise gift from my brother-in-law and sister-in-law. My sister-in-law actually apologized to me before Marcelo opened the present thinking I wouldn't be happy with it. LOL She remembers how upset I was at losing Marcelo for a weekend at a time when they got him an XBox. But they got us a Wii! It was actually what I'd been wanting to buy for myself but not wanting to spend the money on something so frivolous! :)

Christmas morning, the kids opened their gifts from us and Santa. It was a very Star Wars and very Lego Christmas for Marc. He got 3 new Lego sets and his Hoth snowspeeder and both kids got Star Wars books. Marc got a pop-up Star Wars book and Alex got the DK Star Wars Visual Encyclopedia. In the encyclopedia, they have cut away views of the robots and ships and everything as well as great detail on the different species of the Star Wars world. There's so much detail you'd almost believe it was real. Alex got lots of dress up stuff (Buzz Lightyear, a pirate, a CHP officer) and both got a bunch of games. You could never tell we're a family of geeks. ;)

My favorite gifts were a jewelry box, a picture frame, and a leafman wall mounted vase that Marcelo and the boys made for me. :) When I pull the pictures off my camera I'll post them. But mostly for me, it was a Christmas of creature comforts. Comfy jammies and slippers, books from favorite authors, a gift certificate for a massage...

We spent Christmas day with my mother-in-law's family. A new engagement was announced (one of Marcelo's cousins), a new baby's first Christmas (he was born a week before Thanksgiving), our favorite cousins and kids were in from Texas.

It's a shame we have to wait for holidays for gatherings like that.
